TFA Handler

Trifluoracetic acid is a highly aggresive reagent so is used in laboratories, among other uses, to strip samples from substrates used in assays etc. However, this behaviour makes it hazardous to handle. This project was to adapt an existing microtitre plate filler to handle TFA. Activities included:

• Design lof liquid handling system
• Materials selection
• Mechanical design incl. stepper motor
• Selection of critical components
• Modification of existing PIC code
