Magic Touch
A very low cost proximity or movement sensor

The sensor works by detecting very small changes of capacitance (less
than 0.01pF) of a sensing electrode. The trick, however is how this is all
done with a supply current of 20uA and for a manufacturing cost around USD0.80!
Patents applied for.
Applications:
- Toys and games to make them "magically" come to life as a child
approaches or in a game of skill where actions have to be done without setting
off the alarm
- Security systems to protect individual items
- Point of sale to activate a sales message when a shopper shows interest
in an item on display
Key development tasks:
- Design for ultra low cost manufacture
- Real time MCU code
- Measurement technology
