Biochip Gridding Robot

The development objective was a bench-top instrument to produce DNA biochips at high speed and precision. In engineering terms the requirement was for a high-speed robotic XYZ motion system capable of mechanical repeatability of +/-15 microns over a working area of about 600mm x 400mm.
